The patented AerWay Shatter-tines lift and fracture tough soil to increase air and movement. As the AerWay moves over the surface, the unique angles of the AerWay Shattertines crack and shatter compacted soil 8" and deeper to open new channels for air and water. Plants respond with strong roots and better yields. Plus you'll see improved fertilizer utilization, reduced runoff, and greater soil moisture retention.
An important fact:
Did you know that properly aerating your pasture will produce better feed for your animals—and therefore lower your overall costs? This is a fundamental issue and core revenue generator for those wishing to increase their profits.
We use patented AerWay® technology
The best equipment brings with it the best results —
Lone Cowboy is pleased to announce that we now offer pasture aeration using AerWay's Shattertine technology. AerWay goes to the heart of soil problems by relieving compaction.
Why you need to aerate
Three systems work together to make soil productive: physical, biological, and chemical—the physical condition of the soil is the key to efficient biological and chemical activity, which in turn determines how much plant life the soil can produce.
Did you know that normal equipment traffic breaks down soil particles and rapidly forces them together? The same holds true with livestock traffic. While livestock can actually break up surface crusting, the trade-off is that deep soil compaction occurs over time if left untreated. Rainfall, interestingly enough, contributes to the problem by disturbing the smallest of particles and forcing them into pore spaces near the surface, creating layers of crust.
For best results it's desirable to aerate in the spring and fall.
Air and water move togetherCorrecting compaction makes a dramatic improvement in soil tilth. It's a fundamental issue faced by horse and animal owners, and it's the most basic step for pasture owners to improve feed production. Air and water move together, and therefore maintaining a proper air/water balance will keep all the biological and chemical systems working at peak efficiency. That means that whether you're a horse owner with your eye to the pasture, or a farmer growing crops or a rancher growing hay, your production—and therefore profits—will be significantly increased.
Mechanical aeration is the answer
Since soil compaction is a physical problem, the best solution is mechanical aeration. The ideal type of aeration treatment is fast, efficient, cost effective, and easy to perform—just what you get from us by our using the patented AerWay® technology.
